As of 2021, Tim Duncan is currently serving as an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs, the team with which he played his entire 19-year NBA career. Duncan retired as a player in 2016 and joined the Spurs coaching staff in 2019, under head coach Gregg Popovich.
In addition to his coaching role, Duncan is also involved in philanthropic work through his Tim Duncan Foundation, which focuses on improving the education, health, and well-being of youth in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where he was born and raised.
Off the court, Duncan is known for being a private individual who has largely stayed out of the spotlight. He has a reputation for his humility, work ethic, and leadership both as a player and now as a coach.
